I just wanted to add this article on irradiated food. I heard it on Friday at the Safeway supermarket that people will not be aware of food that is irradiated. We all know that this is not going to be good. I am giving you the link to the already fumigated foods that I blogged about in March. Those foods I do not buy unless I can buy organic. Are we ever going to make the difference to stop all this chemical poisoning that is going on in this country and most countries around the world. My little niche here can't keep chemicals at bay. I feel this is an uphill battle but I am just not buying these bad foods anymore. I realize I don't even shop in the center of a grocery store at this point. I am shop the parameter and I stay away from the bakery and breads(my favorite as much as possible. I feel another post coming on so look for it soon. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine got me to feel pretty crappy from the Peter piper Pizza perfumathon. Trying to get detoxed by the end of the weekend.

I'm just furious now that the FDA has approved irradiation of lettuce and spinach. Soon, the only way possible to get healthy food is to grow all of your own--and what about those who can't?
Grr.
P.S. I called McCormick's of Canada, and they do not irradiate their spices. Or at least, they didn't when I called them--in 2007.
Hi Anna - thanks for stopping by my site and glad I found your blog too! My whole focus for writing and my passion is natural living from every angle. I apply the science of the body to nature and common sense approaches as to how to take back and take control of our health. There is as you know, just too much junk and diseases out there from every angle.
As for this article, I heard this buzz for a few weeks now as far as food irradiation goes - so sad. However, organics are not irradiated and I am a great proponent for all organic fruit and veggies. Also I am not sure, but I do not think Canada has the same irradiation laws as the US - so it might be a bit better with that here.
I read your profile too, and I do not for one second believe that you and your family will never be the same - medical doctors are usually very limited in their approaches.
I do not doubt that it is going to take some time, but as our bodies are nearly completely new in terms of cell regeneration every seven years, I believe through the right foods, environments and healing methods yours will be able to heal as well. It seems like you are already on the right track with the yoga. I would also look into some cleansing herbs from a trusted Oriental medicine source, surround yourself with a completely non-toxic environment and of course eat, wholesome, unprocessed, organic food with a majority of fruits and veggies and allow your body to heal itself. Well there is one more piece to the equation - a healthy, positive mindset and as stress-free as possible environment.
Our bodies are capable of amazing things when we work with them, not against them.
Cheers!
