This was a pleasant suprise in my inbox today. You can now check the labels of over 25,000 different foods on-line. That let you know when they contain bad products like that High Fructose Corn Syrup that has lead people to alot of medical problems. Check out http://www.labelwatch.com/ when you have the time. I know I read so many labels when I am out shopping for products. This is because we live on fresh vegetables, fish and whole grains. I don't buy many other canned products except for tomatoes products. I find that when I do need to buy a special ingredient for a recipe I read each and every label checking the one that has the least added ingredients and lowest sodium and sugar. I know that even those cans have several of the 75,000 chemicals that can be added to your food that the food companies don't even have to tell you about. I have started canning, freezing, preserving, dehydrating, blending, yogurt and kefir making all on my own. I am getting another freezer/fridge and I am convert storage space to a second panty. This is all for my health and the failing economy. I am glad my mother, father, grandmother, grandfather and sister have taught me so much about all these things. They have no idea what an inspiration they all are to me.
One added note-I don't eat bread anymore because of the yeast in it but I want to share with you the fact that when you read the labels, you can find one that has minimal ingredients with no High Fructose Corn Syrup in it. I hope everyone is having a great week. I have already had a plumber in my house replacing a leaking garbage disposal. Ugh!! Friday they are fixing my washing machine. Have a great day!
