Lots of Info for all my friends

I have so much to write when I skip so many days. But maybe my post will be more meaningful.

First and foremost -- I finished my Bachelors in Natural Health Studies. I am waiting for my final exam and project to get graded and then I get to start my doctorate in Naturopathy with a concentration in herbal studies. I love herbs and creating with my hands. I have been so busy still doing my fall cleaning. The garage is done and I am now working on my last storage area which will be set up for my food storage and my herbal crafts. This economy has me quite concerned because I think this is just the beginning of the storm. I have read alot on the great depression and we seem to be repeating history. So all I can say is if the economy turns around - fantastic - I will have extra food and be making my own soaps, shampoos and cosmetics. If it turns to yuk - I will be somewhat prepared to take care of my chemically sensitive family. I am only looking into how to do a small garden in the desert. That is my biggest problem to overcome because heat makes me nuts and I hate growing anything outside here when the temperature is 115 degrees. I hate to ramble but this is what has me thinking about if the economy keeps doing a nose dive.

Okay, I do not agree with these bailouts that in the long run are going to make this recession last even longer. For those of you in the industries that might be getting a bailout, or a homeowner in distress, I am sorry, but I do not feel that a bail out is going to really help you in the long run.

My sister sent me a great story from a website called 'But you don't look sick' that had a great story called "The Spoon" I found that you could insert Multiple Chemical Sensitivity into the disease spot and know how my family and I feel.

Last weekend we went and saw the fall colors in Sedona. It was a beautiful weekend. We got up to Cresent Moon Park and it was a an awesome day for a picnic. Besides the great picnic we went for a walk and saw Cathedral Rock and the little creek that runs through the area. It was so peaceful. I felt the healing process working there. It reminded me of a couple of books I had read. One was by Louise Hay, 'You can Heal your life' and the other was by Dr. Caroline Myss Phd., 'Why People Don't Heal'. If you are interested in a body, mind and spirit way to help heal MCS these are two great ways to start. I also recommend the author of my last course on Holistic Nutrition. He is Dr. Gabriel Cousens and he has a rejuvenation center in Arizona. He seems to prefer the Ayurvedic way to good health and with it the raw diet. His book on Conscious Eating was so informative I just have to recommend that book as well. Later, we went to Oaxaca Restaurant for dinner which is our favorite place to eat dinner although we didn't have any fried ice cream :( We were too full. The next day we went up Oak Creek Canyon and it was cold. I am glad I made a huge thermos full of hot chocolate because we certainly needed it. I think it felt like it was freezing and the leaves were already past peak up there. I guess I am just a wimp. LOL. We also spent a great deal of the morning and early afternoon at Slide Rock. The kids had a great time skipping rocks and rock climbing. They did not really like all the picture taking we did. Except Jaclyn, who seemed to be a diva that day. She must have asked to have her picture taken 100 times between Alan and I. So after the fifty pictures we took of Jaclyn we went to Wildflower Bread Company for lunch and then worked our way back home. It was a great weekend, one filled with the kids having fun and the parents reconnecting. What more can a mother, wife and woman want. As I leave you today. I hope you realize that even with MCS, we try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.

As I wait for my project and exam to be graded I will leave you with a couple of videos that my hubby and I did. You can go to Uncle John's Band or You tube to see all our videos.Have a beautiful day!!!
Hugs and Love

I am so glad that you posted on my blog. I just love these pictures of your family. They are all such beautiful people- inside and out. I wrote a long comment on your other blog, so I will just say that I'm glad you are making the effort to share nature/outdoors with your family. It really is a wonderful world we have! I hope you have a good day tommorow!

P.S. I was just entering your blog address into my roll and I was thinking about your name- yellowcanaryalert and I jokingly remembered we have a yellow cockatiel- does that count if it suddenly dies- we should be alerted?! I think it is interesting how much birds can help us be warned about sickness/illness. They use chickens to help detect West Nile Virus! Just some random thinking...

LOL, I hope not. I hope it would be old age and not some kind of poisonous/toxic gas. :)

Hi Anna - Thanks for your comment the other day! I thought of you this morning as I went into a conference - I was already anticipating a Migraine as I would be spending an entire day indoors under fluorescent lights in crowded rooms with a lot of noisy people - but then the woman I followed into the hotel had some powerful perfume on! Feeling of dread! I positioned myself as far away from her as I could.

Thanks for the lovely pictures. I was in Sedona once - too briefly. But my Grandma used to go there to paint!

Hugs, Megan

Thank you so much for posting a wonderful blog about the fatigue and chemical sensitivity issues of chronic illness. Cute background and graphics too! As the founder of National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week, we are always encouraged when those with invisible illnesses are willing to share a bit of their experience, as it always spreads awareness of just how many people DO have illnesses (and fatigue) that is completely invisible or misunderstood by those who are healthy. Keep up the great work! And if you have an article/blog you would like to share, send it to me. We post Guest Bloggers each week at our Invisible Illness Week blog at www.invisibleillnessblog.com

Blessings,
Lisa
