How many days do we stay inside playing with our kids, watching TV, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry to name just a few? How many days do we actually spend an hour outside? Some people don't even realize how healthy it is to be outside. Some people are just too tired to go. Since, I also have chronic fatigue, I know this feeling well. I have to force myself out the door. (I am always glad I did go because inevitably, I feel better.) Our family and I try to get outside afterschool and on weekends, we do however nix this idea when the pollens are high. Usually we can escape the pollens in Tucson by driving up to Mt. Lemmon and enjoying the air up at 8000 feet. Often times people with MCS forget the importance of getting outside or they just feel too sick. Yesterday, I took my homework with me to the park and sat and read. I found that I retained more information while I was sitting outside and studying, even with the kids running back and forth than I do when I am sitting in my home with the kids in school. I have decided that I am going to the park when I can to do my course work and projects. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 220px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SX4IHhNRxVI/AAAAAAAAAS4/0Xt2XqUNh-Q/s320/open+window.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295679137100449106" />

Another great thing to do is to remember to open your windows. On a beautiful day, I like to open the windows and doors. I believe that it cleanses your house, removing chemicals and toxins from the indoors. We do this a lot in the fall, winter and spring. Once our temperature here in Tucson breaks 100 degrees we head up to the mountain for our fresh air. The mountain is a wonderful place to escape the extreme heat of the desert. If we can't drive to the mountain on the weekends we spend time outside in the evening looking up for falling stars and star gazing.

One last thing I want to mention, we often times exercise, meditate and do yoga in gyms and in our homes. We forget that these activities can be done outside in a beautiful quiet serene place. Free of stress. I love doing activities like these outside because my brain fog lifts and I feel so much better. Relaxation can also be achieved in the great out doors. Takes some blankets and find a shade tree or a sunny spot and just lay and watch the clouds drift by.
Thanks for reading, have a beautiful day.

Aquafina Water Bottles

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 258px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SX1grlSSpeI/AAAAAAAAASo/0EyEjZ-cFCg/s320/aquafina.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295495038717044194" />
Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry I have not written before tonight. I have been so busy with school, and kids I haven't had much time for anything else. I miss reading all of your blogs. I will catch up. I was thinking about all the things I wanted to write about. Alan, Ryan and I all reacted to our mold/dust shots and our chemical drops this week, which sucks. We all need additional testing to see if our allergies worsened or got better. We have gone pretty whole grain and veggie and noticed that some of our MCS symptoms were at bay this weekend. YAY!!!

One important thing I wanted to bring up is how we respond to some plastics. We, as a family, don't use plastic unless necessary. Alan, at work, has to grab an Aquafina sometimes and noticed that his MCS symptoms always increased after drinking from that plastic bottle. I found out that when I drink from an Aquafina bottle my symptoms go up too. Go figure. I just wanted to tell in case of emergency that a store brand water does not increase our symptoms over the prestigious Aquafina brand. More expensive might mean more leeching from a the plastic containers. If in doubt use a glass.
Hope you all have a great week.

It's not easy being GREEN

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SXU0498FWmI/AAAAAAAAASY/74VBr6EOrrA/s320/green+bag.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293195090347776610" />

I have a pet-peeve. Okay, I have many pet-peeves but this one is driving me nuts. Everybody and their cousin wants to look like they are being green. They carry there little green (look at me, I love the environment) bag and they douse themselves in toxic chemicals that they call perfume. Usually with a baby in tow. I am still amazed that we can be sitting 50 feet away from someone and still have a strong scent of toxic sludge (perfume) drifting our way. Today was no exception. One lady was toting a "organic cotton green bag" and reeking of chemicals. It isn't easy being green in this world today. There are too many hidden killers in everything you buy. There is hope, one person at a time, changing there cleaning products to those of our ancestors, it isn't that hard. Not poisoning the environment with chemicals that we spray on ourselves, or put in our homes to make them smell better. I rather smell your home full of body odor than a mask of chemicals. Today, was a day where we couldn't even stay at the playground part of the park. Nine different mom with nine different scents poisoning my children and theirs. To me it is as bad a second-hand smoke. I have to remind everyone to please step away if you are wearing perfume, you might as well be blowing second-hand smoke at me. There, I feel much better, except for the fibromyalgia and headache from the odors we endured today. I hope tomorrow is another beautiful day. Thanks for listening to me be angry.

Clean your Own Toxic Mold --- OMG No!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 280px; height: 280px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SXP27vLq9YI/AAAAAAAAASI/J2sNS522lY8/s320/black+mold+book.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292845493228598658" />
So dear readers I am surfing the internet and came across a blog that tells you the dangers of toxic mold and then shows a book on how to clean it naturally. I want to put my two cents in. Very rarely do I take sides but this book scares me. The article was written on a wellness blog and I know the writer was thinking about how important it is to get rid of toxic mold because of the health risk. I strongly feel that it is like dealing with a rattlesnake bite at home. You have no idea how serious the mycotoxins can harm your body. I can not express my concern for this DYI project enough. Remove yourself from the home/apartment etc. Get a professional to remediate your home do not attempt this on your own. The complications to your health are by far too great and I don't want anyone out there believing that if you take care of it yourself it will be great.

Mold Toxins increases your risk of allergies

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 315px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SXJmfuG-p0I/AAAAAAAAASA/fwFfLgJa-7c/s320/mycotoxin.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292405207253034818" />
A new study came out in December that states that the mycotoxins from mold are more hazardous to your health than previously thought. The study came from Lund University in Sweden.

For us it is something we already knew. I developed so many chronic allergies especially to dust and dust mites. I am starting to react to my dust/mold shots which means my allergies to one or more of the antigens in my shot is getting worse. Unfortunately that means more testing to tweak my shot. More testing means I need to fly to our environmental physician in Florida. He is one of four in the country that titrates our formula specifically for our type of allergies. For more information on our physician you can look at his website.

Living in a Chemical Soup - Ning

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 88px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SW4sx0MdPDI/AAAAAAAAAR4/CvciV84u_9w/s320/livinginachemicalsoup_logo_copy3copy.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291215846543014962" />
I just wanted to mention that chemical soup has a NING counterpart for all of you intereted in living chemical free and having a community to meet and discuss issues. We had a new piece of furniture delivered just after Christmas which caused us a great deal of MCS issues. We did all the detox treatments to help on our symptoms and on Sunday it seemed to pay off. Hopefully it will stay this way. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SW4PAmnOzlI/AAAAAAAAARw/LvHbEiZxC_g/s320/ThenoodleswithAlan.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291183115246423634" />
There is a great group of guys that play in a band called The Noodles out of Tempe AZ. The lead guitar player, John Reuter builds some really great sounding Jerry Guitars and if you are into that scene, the guitars are truly awesome. The band member were very kind letting Alan sit in as both lead and rhythm for the second set. It made his month and he enjoyed getting out to play. I met a lot of great followers of the Noodles and just felt welcomed from the moment we got there. I hope to go back there soon. Now, as for MCS and going to a bar. We survived. It was a smoke free bar and no one was wearing cologne or even patchouli. I left feeling pretty good and woke up the next day feeling pretty good. So did Alan, how weird is this. Bar, no smoke, no MCS. Hurray!!! It was called the Red Owl in Tempe Arizona. I was pleasantly surprised. Although on Monday night, I started getting a cold. Today, it is at bay and I am feeling better. Must be all the Vitamin C and good music.
I also started my Foundation of Naturopathy course it is some pretty heavy reading so it is going slow. Hopefully I will get through it by next week. I shall keep plugging along and I will still try to get on this blog site and write. I hope everyone is having a beautiful week. Hope to be writing soon~

Please feel free to check out the youtube video from that night.

Thanks Mitch

Bathtime Detox~

Detoxification is a process that occurs within our bodies on a natural and continuous basis. Detoxifying is the process of releasing accumulated toxins and waste products that build up throughout our system.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 350px; height: 343px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SWZQ_zU9gnI/AAAAAAAAARo/w6WvL5SZoDg/s400/bathtime.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5289003869433332338" />
I have been making my own bathsalts for over 19 years. It is a simple recipe that works great and is quite cost effective, and healthy for people with MCS, or people that just don't want alot of chemicals added to the bath.

Basic Bath Salts Recipe

3 parts epsoms salts
2 parts baking soda
1 part sea salt

*Stores indefinately in a mason's jar. Add liberally to your bath.

Now you know that I don't use scents but if I wanted to I would make a sachet of organic herbs (fresh or dried) You could use organic rose petals, spearmint, lavendar or something like that and add the sachet to the tub.

For a good detoxification bath I use 3 cups epsoms salts, 2 cups baking soda and 1cup sea salt. I make the bath water as hot as I can stand it and soak for 20 minutes bringing on a good sweat.

I have also read that another detox bath is made up of 1 cup epsoms salts, 2 cups baking soda and 1 cup sea salt and you use a 1/2cup per bath. I haven't tried this formula so I cannot say if I feel better after it. Especially with MCS the larger amount seems to work better. If you have dry skin you might want to add a teaspoon of glycerin to the bath or apply organic aloe vera gel after the bath.

For more information on Detox baths you can check out Our Little Place.

I hope you have a beautiful day.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 202px; height: 202px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SWWIa2yNohI/AAAAAAAAARg/KrdPldBBDyo/s400/inflammation.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288783332380615186" />

Since I am on a blogroll today I wanted to let you guys know of one site that I have found very informative on the effects and treatment of inflammation on the body. He is very helpful if you have any questions on incorporating an anti-inflammatory diet into your daily life and the benefits of doing so. It can keep all kinds of chronic diseases at bay. If you have the time~ please, check it out.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 216px; height: 139px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SWQZsrxX_OI/AAAAAAAAARY/vbBfP3g2cbU/s400/chemicals.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288380117894560994" />

I just found another great called blog Chemical Soup. I loved them being home for two weeks but it was sure nice when they went back. I didn't really like getting up before the sun was up but I got a lot accomplished. All my Hanukkah/Christmas decorations are put away for the next year and stored. All the thank-you cards have been written to family. I am just waiting to get some pictures to send with them and they will be off. I am just finishing some work I am doing for the school and I can start my homework again. I think by Thursday I will be starting my first course on the Foundations of Naturopathy. Yay!!! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SWOS0Iu549I/AAAAAAAAARI/BCiTRoF5Lwg/s400/walking.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288231811858162642" />
As for feeling better. We are almost there from the gas heat episode. I started walking with my neighbor we are just walking one mile a day. We hope to get it up six miles by the end of the next couple of months. It feels good although I have a headache from something. I think it was from doing errands yesterday. We needed shoes and shoe departments do me in.
As for my friends with MCS remember how important 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at least three times a week is. It helps your body heal. It helps me feel good by elevating my mood and decreasing depression. Also, during the winter (northern hemisphere, now) remember to get some sun. Vitamin D is so important to your health. Just read the article for more information.

Hope you have a beautiful day.
Hugs and Love~
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 368px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SWOUoq9Kv4I/AAAAAAAAARQ/01AlpOnS25I/s400/love.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5288233813909618562" />

Natural Gas and MCS

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 190px; height: 142px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SV-T6MT5vLI/AAAAAAAAARA/gDRwVOrg3gQ/s400/flame12.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287107115502648498" /> Okay, so I went to bed late last night because I drank a cup of Organic Earl Grey Tea at 10pm. I knew better but I wanted something warm because it was cold in the house. I guess that was my first mistake. I can handle Earl Grey before 6pm at night. It doesn't seem to bother me chemically in any way. The caffeine at 10pm was another story. I think I finally was able to go to sleep about 1am. Tonight, I am drinking Yogi Tea Kava Stress Relief to calm the mind. We will see if my mind starts calming. Now onto the second mistake I made before going to bed, I turned the heat on. Even set the heat to 69 degrees. We have natural gas heat in the desert and when it comes on in the winter we get sick. I get dizzy, edgy and forgetful not to mention I wake up at 4am (Insomnia has set in. Nothing to do but watch infomercials to relax the mind. Of course I get sucked into one of them. I won't even tell you what I bought at 4am, if it works I will share it, if it is a scam I will share that too. I have to evaluate the product firts. I will tell you one thing it has to do with getting into shape. My favorite post New Year's till the end of summer regime. I always get back into shape for the summer. I like to eat in the fall and winter (something about hibernating and storing fat) so it takes a little bit of work to feel good about putting on a bathing suit. So enough about the 4am thing. I was up for the duration and I am still up now-10pm. I have no edge, no headache, no dizziness--just some neck pain and blurry vision and of course it is hard to remember things. Tonight, though, I will not be putting on the heat. Even with the cold front coming in. We will just have to stay snuggly in our flannel sheets and flannel PJ's. (romantic, isn't it? :)

I do have to say that last year at this time, I had excruciating headaches from the natural gas. This year, not so much. (we use the heat minimally to avoid our symptoms) I took my 5000mg of Vit C, my chelate magnesium, calcium and zinc, with my multivitamin later. I also take 400iu of VitD. Alan and I went for a 30 minute walk this morning to escape the natural gas and opened the doors when we got home. I took time out to play basketball with Alan and Ryan for about an hour yesterday Adding exercise and supplements to my life has greatly reduced a lot of my MCS symptoms. It has reduced a lot of my families symptoms but if we don't follow our regime sickness comes back in a flash and we are back to square one.

Thanks for reading dear readers~ Hope you have a beautiful day :)

*Note to self--change to electric heat by next winter :)*

Creating Natural Beauty at Home

Some of the things I have been doing over the past month is reducing chemicals in my house. My newest endeavor has been creating my own cosmetics and shampoos. My sister always sends me great books and I finally dug into one she had gotten me a while ago. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 253px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SV7gDBYNEFI/AAAAAAAAAQw/F_8w1BsYYnU/s400/natural.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286909355093725266" /> It's called 'Natural Beauty at Home' by Janice Cox. Janice Cox herbal recipes for body, bath and hair have been featured in the Herb Companion (one of my favorite magazines!) I have to say she has great recipes that can be unscented and soothing to your body. I like adding natural herbal scents by soaking them in an organic oil. I have been making products with organic beeswax, oils and natural color (beet root, tumeric) much better than those horrible red, yellow and blue dyes. So I have gotten rid of all my cleaning products as you already know and now I am slowly getting rid of all my personal products. Making things that only require 3 organic ingredients makes me feel so good about using the product. Unless there is hidden chemicals in my organic purchases, my ingredient list is short. I buy on-line from two companies for my organic products and I will gladly recommend Glory Bee Foods Inc and also Mountain Rose Herb. Her recipes are easy to create for anyone. These recipes are especially good for people with MCS because you know exactly what you are putting in your products.

We are finally feeling better....and wishing you all a Happy New Year and hoping that ours doesn't end like it did this year with out pets!!

Hi Everyone,

I have so much to share and so little time to share with you. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I was burning the candle at both ends and developed bronchitis and laryngitis. I am physically feeling better.
On our pet side it was a very hard month on us all......<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 273px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SV6cIvYG56I/AAAAAAAAAQY/W5oFuJpEcZY/s400/Magi+and+Merlin.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286834686550009762" />
Three weeks ago I had to put my 14 year old cat Magi to sleep. She was a Humane Society rescue who developed kidney failure over the last two years. My fondest memory was how she protected Rhyanna when she was a newborn. She would guard and watch over her. If anyone but myself came near baby Rhyanna, Magi would meow loudly and sit by the door of Rhyanna's room. She was a Tonkenese and meowed loudly normally but it was funny to see how protective she was. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 216px; height: 164px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SV6eMCkYaNI/AAAAAAAAAQg/yvqgjDv3PDA/s400/arod.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286836942264625362" /> During Christmas break it was Arod, Ryan's 6 year old Betta fish that died. He lived a very long time for a Betta fish but Ryan was heartbroken. Lastly, Jaclyn's hamster Mario died on Dec. 30th, I am not sure what happened Jaclyn said that Mario was falling and she caught him and he died.) <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SV6gYU3qbMI/AAAAAAAAAQo/vK_cTAQRPpA/s400/Mario.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286839352359021762" />(She is 5 so I can only imagine how hard it was when she came out to the kitchen holding him and crying. So you can see that we had a lot of saddness when it came to our pets. Hopefully, the new year will be a happy time for our life with our pets. I do not want to leave this on a sad note and will post a lighthearted post next. It was a sad month for us here.

Allergies and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 69px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STYKKJPbt9I/AAAAAAAAAQQ/cgZ9PfaTbGk/s400/allergystore.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275415182906734546" />

One thing I would like to mention that I never had allergies before we were exposed to toxic mold. My allergies are chronic and high when it comes to dust and dust mites so our Dr. recommended the Allergy Store for some mattress and pillow encasings. We purchased the mattress and pillow encasing for our bed. (We picked the Allersoft Blend although I just noticed that they now have 100% organic cotton which would have been my first choice) With the allersoft blend I noticed that we needed to wash them first because of whatever chemical was on them but after the first wash we did not have any dizziness with it. Alan and I got dizzy with an unwashed pillowcase. After the first night sleep we noticed a decrease in my red face and we didn't feel as fatigued in the morning. We added the mattress encasing and pillow encasings to Ryan's bed who also is chronically allergic to dust and dust mites and for all the kids we added the pillow encasings. They all seem to sleep better and wake up with less fatigue and allergies. I recommend the Allergy store because they were quick with our order and I was able to do it on-line. I love shopping on-line. So if you are interested in encasings if you have dust and dust mite allergies allergystore.com is the place to go. Please watch some of their other allergy products because some of them contain chemicals that will harm the chemically sensitive. Hope everyone is having a beautiful week.

Bobcat crossing my Path

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 338px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STRkJNShwTI/AAAAAAAAAQE/xGOl7cuIZOU/s400/bobcat+crossing2.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274951172906664242" />

Just wanted to share my first wild bobcat spotting this afternoon at my house. It was just a beautiful day when I looked out the kitchen window and saw a Bobcat crossing my path. He or she walked right past the livingroom window and up our driveway. Now, I finally got to see one in the wild and I am so blessed. Too bad I couldn't get to the camera quick enough. I missed a great shot. At least I know we have one around here and I shall keep my eyes open and my camera handy. Have a beautiful Monday :)

Hope Everyone Had A Beautiful Thanksgiving

nFinally, our family seems on the mend from all the viruses running through our house. Jaclyn and Rhyanna were sick for about 3 weeks and Alex for about 1 1/2. I was starting to go stir crazy but I was lucky enough not to catch what they had this time. It must be from the mega Vitamin C doses I have been taking. Whatever it was that kept me healthy made it easier to look after the rest of them. Since they were up many a night, in the middle of the night, I didn't get much sleep.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STLZLcxqZ1I/AAAAAAAAAPU/W2tmAPI-SlM/s400/SANY1691.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274516904330553170" />
Our week was centered around our family. What a great way to spend Thanksgiving. We started our holiday week with a trip to Phoenix and the Football Game at the Stadium. The Giants won which made it even better for all of us. We survived without too much symptoms from the area. Our section seemed pretty clear from the usual perfume and cologne emissions. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STLaLMULasI/AAAAAAAAAPc/aU8UvN8uXOI/s400/SANY1697.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274517999423548098" /> The kids enjoyed eating all the stadium snacks and even spent much of the time cheering and watching the game instead of fighting with each other. I was surprised because we got there around 1pm and then we didn't leave till around 530pm. Even Jaclyn was cheering "GO GIANTS" the whole time. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STLbCJVZKRI/AAAAAAAAAPk/d3Mk7zjmxRo/s400/SANY1719.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274518943516141842" /> It was a great game and it ended with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory. Even there we were spared any perfume ambushes from new guest that sat down close to us. Twice in one day is almost unheard of.

The rest of the week came with news that I aced my last project and final exam. I really did enjoy this last course which showed on my papers. Now, I am just waiting for the okay to buy my books for the beginning of my Doctorate in Naturopathy. I think I will be doing some courses in Human Physiology, Digestion, History of Naturopathy, Philosophical Foundations of Naturopathy, Detoxification and Healing and
Iridology: An Introduction for starters but I will find out soon.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STLgkVlYAvI/AAAAAAAAAPs/rNgDaFW0bL4/s400/SANY1732.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274525028478092018" />

We didn't get to travel up to Alan's brothers for Thanksgiving because we are unable to stay at their house with our MCS. That was kind of sad but the kids enjoyed the Thanksgiving day we had here. I cooked it all and was only moderately not feeling well the next day. Friday was just a day of rest and relaxation. Yesterday we went to the Sonoran Desert Museum. The kids really enjoyed the hike around the loop looking for animals of the desert. They also enjoyed the trip through the mineral cave and searching for some cool rocks. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/STLiD3CC9WI/AAAAAAAAAP0/RnPPaABrGkQ/s400/SANY1724.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274526669544289634" />

Ryan has been working very hard on finishing his novel for writing class. He is at 17000 words and I think he is very pleased with himself. I am very proud of him for working so hard on this assignment. The kids have been enjoying time with their hamsters and our kitty Merlin. Magi, our other kitty, is just getting too old to hang out with everyone so she just slepted in the cupboard in the laundry room. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving for the people in the who celebrate the day.

Lots of Info for all my friends

I have so much to write when I skip so many days. But maybe my post will be more meaningful.

First and foremost -- I finished my Bachelors in Natural Health Studies. I am waiting for my final exam and project to get graded and then I get to start my doctorate in Naturopathy with a concentration in herbal studies. I love herbs and creating with my hands. I have been so busy still doing my fall cleaning. The garage is done and I am now working on my last storage area which will be set up for my food storage and my herbal crafts. This economy has me quite concerned because I think this is just the beginning of the storm. I have read alot on the great depression and we seem to be repeating history. So all I can say is if the economy turns around - fantastic - I will have extra food and be making my own soaps, shampoos and cosmetics. If it turns to yuk - I will be somewhat prepared to take care of my chemically sensitive family. I am only looking into how to do a small garden in the desert. That is my biggest problem to overcome because heat makes me nuts and I hate growing anything outside here when the temperature is 115 degrees. I hate to ramble but this is what has me thinking about if the economy keeps doing a nose dive.

Okay, I do not agree with these bailouts that in the long run are going to make this recession last even longer. For those of you in the industries that might be getting a bailout, or a homeowner in distress, I am sorry, but I do not feel that a bail out is going to really help you in the long run.

My sister sent me a great story from a website called 'But you don't look sick' that had a great story called "The Spoon" I found that you could insert Multiple Chemical Sensitivity into the disease spot and know how my family and I feel.

Last weekend we went and saw the fall colors in Sedona. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SRzlSoTxlII/AAAAAAAAAMk/kYurfaEap8w/s400/SANY1432.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268337772337403010" /> It was a beautiful weekend. We got up to Cresent Moon Park and it was a an awesome day for a picnic. Besides the great picnic we went for a walk and saw Cathedral Rock and the little creek that runs through the area. It was so peaceful. I felt the healing process working there. It reminded me of a couple of books I had read. One was by Louise Hay, 'You can Heal your life' and the other was by Dr. Caroline Myss Phd., 'Why People Don't Heal'. If you are interested in a body, mind and spirit way to help heal MCS these are two great ways to start. I also recommend the author of my last course on Holistic Nutrition. He is Dr. Gabriel Cousens and he has a rejuvenation center in Arizona. He seems to prefer the Ayurvedic way to good health and with it the raw diet. His book on Conscious Eating was so informative I just have to recommend that book as well. Later, we went to Oaxaca Restaurant for dinner <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SRznDCq2PII/AAAAAAAAAMs/UEHhcEUnuPI/s400/SANY1471.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268339703558847618" /> which is our favorite place to eat dinner although we didn't have any fried ice cream :( We were too full. The next day we went up Oak Creek Canyon and it was cold. I am glad I made a huge thermos full of hot chocolate because we certainly needed it. I think it felt like it was freezing and the leaves were already past peak up there. I guess I am just a wimp. LOL. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SRzoVkqmo0I/AAAAAAAAAM0/wZaoQvZB15M/s400/SANY1478.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268341121433903938" /> We also spent a great deal of the morning and early afternoon at Slide Rock. The kids had a great time skipping rocks and rock climbing. They did not really like all the picture taking we did.<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SRzwiaAONCI/AAAAAAAAAM8/WUy43Eqshfs/s400/SANY1530.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268350138003108898" /> Except Jaclyn, who seemed to be a diva that day. She must have asked to have her picture taken 100 times between Alan and I. So after the fifty pictures we took of Jaclyn we went to Wildflower Bread Company for lunch and then worked our way back home. It was a great weekend, one filled with the kids having fun and the parents reconnecting. What more can a mother, wife and woman want.<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SRzxOfO2BqI/AAAAAAAAANE/D6_T3p8KTU0/s400/SANY1621.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268350895320860322" /> As I leave you today. I hope you realize that even with MCS, we try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.

As I wait for my project and exam to be graded I will leave you with a couple of videos that my hubby and I did. You can go to Uncle John's Band or You tube to see all our videos.Have a beautiful day!!!
Hugs and Love
Anna

If you like Pink Floyd Darkside of the Moon check out our videos-

<a href="">

I know it has been a long time-

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SQFDfccYc9I/AAAAAAAAAMc/6dyCUEHeJlM/s400/gc_visualization.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260560047235691474" />

Sorry for taking such a long time. I had bronchitis and a sinus infections that took a couple of weeks to clear up. We had fall break in our school last week and I had finished two courses: one on homeopathy and the other on Belief and Wellness. I really enjoyed that second one. I recommend the books I used in that course. The best one was called Peace, Love and Healing by Dr. Bernie S. Siegel, he also wrote the book Love, Medicine and Miracles which is also wonderful. I highly recommend these for healing your mind, body and spirit. I can also easily recommend Lousie L. Hays for her books on healing. She has great visualization audio CD's as well. My first husband used them when he developed brain cancer.

I have decided that I am going to cut back on blogging to a couple times a week. I have just crammed my schedule full with my studies again. It is such a fulfilling experience for me but I realize that when I blog I am content and I plan on continuing to do things that I love. Of course the most important is trying to help others with the things I have learned in my journey. I have come to terms with the fact that MCS has, at times, been a blessing in my life's journey. It has also been some of the worst times but I am not looking to live my life as a victim of this disease. I am looking to be a better person through it. I have so much to write and so little time. My next course is a big course. The text book is over 1000 pages and it is on the topic of Holistic Nutrition. I will keep you posted.

To all of my friends and readers. I wish you a beautiful week and weekend.

New Youtube Videos

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SNrKAM0PadI/AAAAAAAAAMU/JX3U_r2Tby4/s400/th_Alembicguitarthelatestaddtion.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249730420442884562" />

I just wanted to let you all know that our videos are up on youtube.com/and you can find the high quality ones on our website at Uncle John's Band Videos

Pleae let me know what you think. Fall recipes are always my favorite especially when they have fall squash, pumpkins or apples in them. I know here in the desert it is still 96 degrees but the evenings and mornings are cooling off. What a wonderful feeling when you take a early morning walk, look at the stars and feel the cool breeze on your skin.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SNg16vPzWII/AAAAAAAAAK0/oTZtZ3XbJNA/s400/fall+cleaning.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249004648931743874" />

Whenever we have a change of seasons I find that I am in my cleaning mode. I know I mentioned that I would be revamping my storage areas and garage. I am 1/2 way done. I have only done one area per week as I said so I don't make myself sick. I have been doing well. Making lots of donations to good will and the library along the way.

Last thing
Schoolhouse Rock. I watched this on Saturday mornings in Canada and always loved them :)I think that is why I came here with the belief of freedom and the pride felt by Americans.

Did Anyone Else experience a "WEIRD" week

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SNctkKvP1sI/AAAAAAAAAKA/6bnKprIiS3o/s400/Earth-lighting-equinox_EN.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248713990104667842" />

I have so much blogging to do with so little time. What is striking me this week though is how weird it was last week. Just weird things happened. Weird one, my hubby's work was odd. Things fell out of place with how things really happened. I am not going to get into it but it caused alot of stress here. The other 2 things that happened were the death of my son's dwarf hamster and my daughter's black russian hamster. I can only imagine that it was something on some of the greens they had eaten. Although my youngest hamster seems spared of whatever killed the other two. How heartbreaking it was on Friday to have my son say that his hamster died, and that he was fine early. Holding him while he cried. Saturday we went to Mt. Lemmon to escape and enjoy the scenery. Check out the website I attached and experience the drive we enjoyed. When we got to the picnic area we relaxed and played games. I even read a magazine. We drank hot chocolate from our thermoses and it was great. We go back home and Luigi, our black russian is very sick. My daughter and I stay up to midnight with the little guy. When he finally was no longer awake. We had put him on a hot water bottle and blankets to keep him comfortable. It broke my heart. Two hamsters in two days. Thank goodness, my youngest hamster is still alive and well in her room. I am not sure if I could have handled another death or another tear. I am glad we are starting a new week. I am hoping it is not as weird and sad as this last week. Did anyone else have some strange occurances happen? I am really curious. Everyone I talked to around here said they had some of the most trying weeks in a long time.
Hope everyone has a beautiful week this week. Tomorrow is the first day of autumn in the northern hemisphere. I hope that it is a better, non-weird week. I know it is my favorite season. My youngest and I decorated her window for the first day of fall the first day of a new transition.

My horoscope last week held true :)<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SNcw7RMXYRI/AAAAAAAAAKI/klpMiOpuQDA/s400/piscesaaa.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248717685509284114" />

Spend some time in that special nook of your community that you love to visit to restore your sanity. Maybe the weather is still summery in your area, and a picnic would work for you. A teacher appears when the student is ready; you may have two different teachers with different advice for you, but try to find the nugget of wisdom from both.

Dr. Weil hits it right on.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5z7f9eYzMfw/SNMnERLuGeI/AAAAAAAAAJY/Yxw1mNd_ybk/s400/HFCS.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5247580945102281186" />

I love Dr. Weil and he is very true in the article he wrote. He states that the 14 ingredients you need to exclude in your anti-inflammatory diet are:

Animal fat, such as lard
Artificial sweeteners or non-nutritive sweeteners
Coconut oil
Corn oil
Cottonseed oil
Fractionated oil
High fructose corn syrup (HFCS)
Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil or vegetable shortening
Margarine
Palm or palm kernel oil
Blended vegetable oils
Safflower oil
Soybean oil
Sunflower oil

I know that we are going to hear so much information on how bad High Fructose Corn Syrup is and how it is killing us. It is bad, very bad. Soybeans are in everything and being allergic to it make is very hard to avoid. Back in the 80's to 90's it was the hydrogentated oils that were bad for you. Each year it just keeps getting worse and our bodies keep getting weaker.

Other Articles
Why is HFCS bad for me

Not so sweet for the planet

I do want to say that the AMA doesn't think that HFCS leads to obesity or other issues. (I will disagree with that) and the FDA says that it is natural. I can't agree with that either. Of course, this is just my opinion. I think too much of anything is a bad thing and HFCS is in everything.
